Ehrman Tapestry Catalogue 1982

What a shame I don't have the first ever Ehrman catalogue. But this is the second. And I find it astonishing that this is dated 1982! So long ago. It will be interesting to see the differences between the early catalogues and more recent ones.

I worked the Victorian Bird, Chippendale Rose, Tiger Lillies, Pheasant, and Seabird.

A Little Bit of Chocolate Does You good: Waddesdon Luxury Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate

I picked up this packet of chocolate for the Chef when we visited Waddesdon Manor last autumn. The design, which is really why I bought this, is from the original architectural drawings of Waddesdon Manor by Gabriel-Hippolyte Destailleur (what a great name eh!) which are held in the bpk Kunstbibliothek, Staatlich Museum zu Berlin.

Never mind the chocolate, feel the grandness of the packaging!

And here's a paper bag from Wadesdon.

A Little Bit of Chocolate Does You Good: Lindor Winter Edition Hazelnut

Irresistibly smooth hazelnut says the box. Milk chocolate truffles with a smooth melting filling.

I won these Lindor Chocolates from Lindt & Sprungli in the office Christmas raffle. Ooh! Yum. Very much yum.

A Little Bit of Chocolate Does You Good: Butlers Butterscotch Milk Chocolate

I've only ever seen this Irish chocolate for sale on a cross channel ferry. From England to France - or vice versa. I'm sure it must be possible to buy it somewhere else.

Exotic Packaging: Penhaligon's Malabah Bath Oil

I really do keep far too much stuff. So the exotic packaging posts are an attempt to allow me to throw stuff away. Or as this is cardboard, to recycle. Yes, this box is a vey pretty colour, yes I love the design. Kind of a sari fabric design maybe? What do you think? But seriously, what do you do with a empty cardboard box? And I'm not the sort of person to keep my bottle of lovely new bath oil inside its box. I don't know why but I can't do that.

Anyway, very very pretty packaging. The bath oil is a little bit eau de cologne, a little bit citrussy. I've only used it once so far and found it quite refreshing.

And you get a beautiful glass bottle which you can use for all sorts of other stuff when you've had all those lovely baths. I use one of these bottles for olive oil. For some reason (it must be something to do with physics I suppose) olive oil dribbles a lot less when you keep it in a glass bottle instead of a plastic bottle. Why is that? Yes, yes, physics. If you know more about the physics let me know!

Ehrman Tapestry Sale Catalogue Spring 2014

Happy New Year for 2017!

And have you made any good resolutions for the New Year? Here's mine: I must get rid of some stuff. Basically I have far too much paper lying around. Not pay slips and tax returns because obviously you need to keep those, but loads of random bits of paper, some of them just because I like the pictures. So here's an attempt to recycle a little bit of the clutter: project "I must get rid of some stuff".

Starting with this pretty catalogue for the Ehrman Spring Sale in 2014. And, in no particular order, more Ehrman catalogues to come.

You can buy fabulous Ehrman products from their website.
